Hi everyone, I'm new to this fourum, but was highly recommended by "Buggylifer" I met Mark and Pita in Juarez as she was APPROVED FOR HER K1..My fiance and I sadly need to go back , Here is my story. I met my fiance Alejandro in April 2006 in Mexicali Mexico, got engaged Feb 1, 2008.. My fiance is from the Dominican Republic but has been living in Mexico for about 8 years now. He has never been to the U.SA. No priors in any country, basically he's a good citizen. We got to Juarez Feb 9th, he had Medical exam hat day, picked up results next morning and headed to conslate since he had open appt. Well when he came out he was upset and crying..he had been told he needed to gather a few more items and come back to consulate( he was given a blue form with needed documents).

These were the forms we initally took to interview( moat were not even looked at)

Invitation letter

i-797C approval letter- expires 2-20-09

DS156

DS156K

DS157

2 passport pictures

Original/certified Birth Certificate for him and his daughter who WAS BORN IN Monterrey Mexico ( not Immigrating her)

Proof of relationship ( lots of proof)

My income info and my parents ( i was laid off work Dec 4th, not working right now)

CDJ-402- INTENT TO MARRY FORMS

Police letter from Mexico- no priors

Now my immigration conslate said that I did not need to fill out I-134, but have been told by many others that I did need to fill out this forms..

to make the story short: the consular didnt even bother to look at most of the items.. oh by the way this was already after they took his finger prints, he said Consular was in a horrible mood..He got to consulate at 8am and didnt leave until 4:30pm

He was told he needed: acta de nacimiento "actual" ??? Which means what ? the one he gave them was dated for June 2007

Next item: Police report from Dominican Republic

- Seach Registro civil where his daughter was born, search 5 years before her birth and 5 years after to verify that he was never married in Mexico

- and last they want the old book of his FM3, which is his visa to be in mexico.. My fiance said that when he renewed his visa Mexican Immigration kept the old booklet and gave him new book, so i guess he have to search and investigate with Mexican Immigration.

Have any of you ever heard this before.. why would they ask for a new birth Certificate when the one he had was ceritifed copy from 2007-- DO YOU guys suggest I have his search the Registar in Dominican Republic to get letter he wasnt married there too??

The Consular didnt mention to him that he had open appt, Do we have to call to make another appt? they kept that letter along with other tiems..

How long are the Medical Exam good for??

Do we have to pay another Banamex Fee?

Sorry lots of questions..but I want to make sure next visit to Juarez is the last!!

Good to meet you all..hope you guys can help me out.

Score another for immigration attorneys, BAH!!!! All of these items are STANDARD interview forms included in the packet 3 you can download for free at the same time you do the petition. These can all be downloaded for FREE and prepared before you even get the NOA2.

1. Dump the attorney, raise hell and try to get the money back (good luck)

2. file for an extension to your I-129f approval, you will get it, but you need to file for it.

3. gather all the documents and go for it again. Any document in any laguage other than English must have a certified translation

4. Downlaod packet 3 from the embassy website and make SURE you have evrything in the checklist.

5. reschedule appointment

fortunatley it sounds like you will have no problem when all the documents are completed and presented, just an unnecessary delay.

Hi , thanks for responding. You know I agree it's a huge unnecessary delay where more money will have to be spent!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I am a little confused, because on all your timelines I am seeing something about "Packet 2, Packey 3" I dont know what this is, because I was told Initally that when Consulate Recieved my information they would send Packet..but nothing but invitation letter Came in mail. So we go on the Ciudad Juarez, Mexico Consulate website and there is very few forms...only like 4..so if it wasnt for other forums I would have been even more short on forms. Im a little upset with Immigration consultant because I dont think he is as expierence in K1 Visas..

I have set up new appt for March 23..I guess i am going to take extra forms even if they are not needed..I want to be safe then sorry...

So I need to know what forms, Im missing?

I m currently not working , got laid off ( housing industry) I get unemployment compensation, should I still send that information,, the consular kept my 2008 tax returns ( is that normal) I had a good year.. I also included my Parents asset information.. I have to fill out I-134 FORMS FOR BOTH ????I am currently going through my background investigation to work for as Customs and Border Protection ( IMMIGRATION OFFICER) I am really towards the end and should be going to training academy..since i AM NOT WORKING but will soon, should I include that information so it looks better???

Help Help help!!!

Thanks!

Birth certicates here in DR are only good for 90 days for Consulate matters, if he has one of 2007, he needs a new one.

Ahhhhh, so now it all makes Sense to me.. so that's why the Consular asked for "acta de nacimiento actual".. You know Alejandro asked her for Clarification but she was in a poopy mood and said Actual.. so I'll Tell Alejandro that's why they were asking for it. Thanks!

He has to ask for at the oficial (gov office) for a Acta de Nacimiento Inextensa RD$200.00 this is the one for consular matters. Then to have it notarized for RD$200.00, for a total of RD$400.00.
