I just filed the AOS package for my father. He is in the US right now. I just got letter for Request for Initial Evidence (I-485). In the letter, they ask for the supporting tax documentation like W-2 for the most recent tax year. And then they told me to read the page 8 of I-864 instructions for more specific information. When I read page 8 of I864,

If you provide a photocopy of your tax return(s), you mustinclude a copy of each and every FormW-2 and Form 1099that relates to your return(s). Do not include copies of these Forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your return(s) rather than a photocopy.
. So if I send the IRS tax transcript for the most recent year. I don't have to give them the W2, right? Anybody that have experience with this please help me. I only have 86 days to submit the documentation. Thank you so much

If you use the tax transcripts you will not need to supply any W2s. It takes approxiamately 10 days to get the transcripts from the IRS. The time may be longer because the IRS is busy with tax returns right now.
