I am leaving next month for a 3 week trip to spend time with my love. This will the first trip I actually have a stop in Manila airport ( I have always avoided it before). I heard many bad things about this airport so I wanted to do a little research on what to expect. I found this website and found it very nice and helpful. Just posting here for anyone else looking for information or help.

Manila is the armpit of the Philippines.

The best thing to do at Manila Airport is to catch a flight to another city.

IF your connecting flight is PAL/Air Philippines, you won't even have to leave the new Centennial terminal at the airport. IF you have a connection to Cebu Pac, or other carriers, then it involves a bus-ride or long walk to the other terminal, from what I understand. Just keep your wits about you, and you'll be fine.

Very likely, someone who's done it a time or two will be there, and might lend you a hand with your confusion or questions. While the RP officials I encountered were not necessarily 'cordial', I didn't find that they were at all rude. Just very matter-of-fact, businesslike comportment.

Luckily that is what I will be doing ;)) .... with a 6 hour layover though ... the only bad thing is I will be connecting on a flight with Philippine Airlines .. which makes it so I have to go to term 2 ... not really liking the idea of actually having to get on a 15-30 min bus ride to go to a terminal you probably can actually see from the first terminal :D
