My husband called the NVC to know when my interview date would be as what he has been doing since last week- calling NVC. We haven't received the appointment letter but once its with me, I'll be doing my medical so I'm done with it and somehow relieve me from anxiety.

Maddy's case was completed on January 28th, and we have not recieved anything yet.

My case closed on Feb 6th. Try calling the NVC. I wouldnt have known if we didnt call that number that our friends here advised. Try following it up.

hello, everyone!

i just found out from my mother-in-law that she already received my interview appointment letter

my interview is scheduled on march 5th at 6:30am

i'm planning to go through my medical examination next week, probably wednesday, or soon as i receive the appointment letter

anyway... i'm hoping someone can enlighten me with the I-864 AOS

"The I-864 AOS is NOW VALID INDEFINITELY ONCE IT HAS BEEN SIGNED (this is a change from the previous requirement of being valid for one year). In other words, applicants will no longer need to submit a new I-864 AOS or new tax forms due to long processing delays between the date of the signature of the I-864 AOS and the date of the interview." (http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3217.html)

so now i'd like to know, do i bring with me a newly accomplished I-864 AOS and recent financial documents, or will copies from the ones previously submitted to NVC suffice?

Wow! That's wonderful news. I'm still waiting for mine, and my interview's on March 6th (starting to stress about it). Anyway, from the instructions you quoted, I don't think you need to bring that form anymore. But that's just my opinion. Let's wait for what others have to say...

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Peru

Hi there, congratulations for having your interview date and good luck on it. With your check list, it seems are ready for your interview. Am just curious, when did you know you case got approved at the USCIS? Coz in our case, I received a letter from them last Dec 12 stating that both my I-129 and I-130 have been approved on the same day, Dec. 11. Due to that, we decided to pursue the I-130 instead. Then on Jan 14, without receiving any notice from the USCIS that our case has been forwarded to NVC, I received an approval notice from the US Embassy for my K3 visa but none for the IR-1/ CR-1. I assumed they have submitted our case to NVC because the US Embassy already mailed me a letter saying our case has been approved and that I am good to go for the medical exam for a K3 visa. But since we are going for the IR-1, I am still waiting for that letter from the embassy with my appointment date. Oh by the way, we hired a lawyer in the US to handle our case but unfortunately I don't feel he is doing his job well in updating us. That is exactly why I'm here asking around so I would know what to ask/ demand from him, since our case is almost a year next month. Also, I've read somewhere here that we don't need to wait for the embassy to mail us the appointment date, we could check it thru the NVC website. Is that really possible? Unfortunately, I don't know what to do or where to start. Any advice from you or our fellow VJers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and good luck to all of us.

K-J (F)

Hi K-J,

if you are going to take ther CR1 path...forget about the K3 first...now you have to call NVC to know about your Case NUmber..001 603 334 0700....once you get the number email your DS 3032 (choise of agent)...read the LIng Che¿s Guide, it will help you a lot....there are more steps to follow and fees to pay....read the guide please...and you Don't need an attorney, we are doing it for ourselves, this step is fast, just be sure you have all the documentacion ready...

for the other VJ's...

DS156 (2 copies)

DS 156K

DS 157..

All they are not needed for CR1, because it is an Immigrant Visa...they are needed for K1 - K3 because they are NO-Immigrant Visa....I hope it helps you..

Good luck!!!!
