Fair enough. Are these stats any good or up to the PD standard?

Murders (per capita) (most recent) by country

Maybe. What's your point?

#6 Mexico: 0.130213 per 1,000 people

#43 Australia: 0.0150324 per 1,000 people

But these two places are the same right?

hmmmm

dude, just accept sometimes you post comments a little bit stupid

We never said they were the same, moreover YOU are the one who brought up Australia into this discussion

and how is this supposed to help your idiotic comments? It's still in Australia,

You are the one that said that you didn't know of a place in Australia where you could loose your life

How many tourists visit Palm island?

How many Americans have been killed on Palm Island?

and I bet he still doesn't understand why he f'ed up

How did I #### up? How many tourists go missing in Australia when compared to the ###### 3rd world beggar nation of Mehico?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

That's irrelevant since it doesn't relate to the point that you made.

So you weren't aware that Palm Island is an area of your home country that people probably shouldn't visit.

Just admit it man - this round the houses BS that you're doing is just embarrassing.

Again...I repeat, how is the above going to help you previous comment? and i quote

"Hmm, I cannot think of one place in Australia you can go to and consequently lose your life"

The 1999 edition of the Guinness Book of Records brought international attention to Palm Island when it named the island the most violent place on earth outside a combat zone. To support this claim it stated statistics such as a murder rate 15 times higher than that of the entire state of Queensland, a life expectancy of 40 years, the highest rate of youth suicide per capita in the world, and a total of 40 suicide fatalities over a period of only five years.[34]

Obviously not - but again I'm wondering what your point is, given that I doubt you'll find many here (including Mexicans) who will deny that Mexico has problems with crime.

After all noone has disputed the OP post, indeed - some clarification was offered as to the areas in which they took place, as places that even residents would choose to avoid.

The thread was about American tourists visiting Mexico and being killed. Therefore any comments or posts are in relation to this topic, no? But once again you guys like to make something out of nothing and twist my words to suit your prejudiced views against me. So continue on telling me what I did or did not mean.

Might I ask why you brought up the tangent introducing Australia into the thread. If it has nothing to do with the thread - why was it put out there?

????

This thread was on topic up until the point where you decided to pull the "my country is better than yours" and "which two ethnicities are responsible for most crimes" card.

This is VJ and conversations frequently "evolve".

This particular conversation changed direction when you made the interesting statement that you could not think of a single place in Australia where you might lose your life.

Given Palm Island's reputation as one of the most violent places on earth, and given Palm Island's location in Australia (gasp), clearly, you were misinformed.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
