hi, my boyfriend and i had just decided to get married but we want to do it in the states thru a K-1 visa. we have not yet started since we had just decided about that major decision the other night.

The thing i'm concerned about though is that he is stationed in okinawa, japan. can anyone please tell me if it is possible for him to still aply for the I-129 F although he is in japan? he will fly to hawaii this 8th though for a whole month of training, but will go back to okinawa by march 14th. he will ETS on march 2012.

it would really be helpful if anyone can share their ideas or experiences about our situation.

thanks!~ :blush:post-61530-1233905837_thumb.jpg

yes he is in the army& he is in japan. Okay that was really very helpful. how long did it take your K-1 to get approved like starting from the time your hubby sent the I-129f til u got the approval?

and oh, i forgot to ask did he do it by himself or thru an agency or something

did he do the electronic filing or did he send the physical copies to the USCIS

we were planning on doing it thru this site

http://www.filipinafianceevisa.com

a friend of mine did it thru them too and other friends of her fiance did it thru them :)

btw, congratulations :)

hey girl,my Fiance is on army too, he was stationed in Korea when he filed our application.and we hired a immigration lawyer..

www.olvis.com--they are expensive but their service is good...

we filed when he was here in Philippines:)

good luck to you,:)

he did everything by himself and mailed the documents from japan. we filed in february 2008 and got the petition approval letter from the embassy in june. although we got an rfe sometime in between, it was nothing major and didn't really add much delay. i guess if you got all requirements on hand, doing everything yourselves will save you a lot of money.
