My Thai husband and I (just married) are applying for his adjustment of status.

Okay, I've been reading different search results for the I-693 form and I-693a form and I'm still confused as hell.

I understand this from the Assembling I-485 Package:

I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)

Here is the medical documentation we have:

I have an envelope that contains two letters and his vaccination documentation. One states he is HIV negative. The second states he is VDRL non-reactive. Then he has his vaccination documentation.

Next we have his X-rays. Finally, I believe (but not sure) we have some medical report in a sealed envelope from the Thai hospital.

Can I open this envelope and make a copy? What exactly do I send? Do I need to see a civil surgeon?

Please help; we are running out of time.

You visit a US civil surgeon, they will transfer vaccinations record to the I-693. If any additional vaccinations required the doctor will let you know.

There is no such thing as an I-693A, the I-693 has been updated to replace the 693A.

okay! thank you. I will give this a shot (ha ha... no pun intended)-- if there are any suggestions out there I'm all ears. Although upon careful reading of those directions it seems clearer. On a few other posts it was looking as if people had problems just getting the vaccination record transferred.

Is there anything specific I could say to the doctor? Thanks again!

Simply print out an I-693 with it directions, highlight that K-Visas only need the vaccinations section done, and point at it when the doctor tries to whack you for a full medical.

Just found this thread-- Wondering if the civil surgeon is legit and if people use him/her:

To have your vaccination information transcribed to Form I-693, the following Civil Surgeon will do it by phone and fax for a nominal fee ($10 at time of writing):

Dr. L. E. Arnold

4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 106

Austin, TX 78745

Hi,

I wrote on another topic but thinks it applies here and could help people in a similar situation.

If the k1 visa holder had their medical test done overseas and has all their vaccinations, do they still need to do the serologic test for hiv/aids and syphilis listed on page 2 (not done overseas) or as others have said you just need to submit pages 1,3, & 5?

Anyone know if the aids/hiv and syphilis test is needed or not?

Thanks

The aids/hiv and syphilis tests are done over seas, because they are reasons to deny the K-Visa on medical grounds.
