Hi BC75,

Yes, you can send in Packet 3 stuff as soon as you have your case # and are sure that the embassy has your case. I'll explain how I know this later tonight when I'm not so pressed for time. (I'm actually on my way to the post office to send my baby the I-134 and other doc's she needs to send in packet 3 for us!)

Re: the wait times between sending in packet 3 and your interview date, the most current info I have is not so great. Per usvisa4thai, One woman sent in her packet on November 20 and her interview was scheduled for December 17. This really sucks because earlier in the month people were getting their interviews only 10 or so days after sending in packet 3. I'm still holding out hope that my fiancée gets her interview and visa in time to make it here by Christmas, though.

Good luck and thanks to all that have contributed to this excellent thread!!

What happened with us was a "little" crazy but it all worked out for the best.

I went to Thailand Oct 5.

We got the NOA2 (by mail in NY) October 15; I had it mailed t me in Thailand so she could be in possession of it for the interview stage.

I tried to contact the NVC and Consulate by email without luck (NVC replied in November) but we went ahead with the medical

and police report and preparing packet3 even while packet3 had not arrived.

I did trace my case to the Consulate through DHL tracking by reference and my belief that it was MY case - on Oct. 20.

Still no confirmation from the Consulate.

In any case, we got the packet3 letter at her house (we were both there to greet the mailman) on the LAST day I was in BKK (Oct 31).

She sent packet3 to them on Nov 16th (she was still very busy at work) and got the interview (packet4) invitation on Nov 18th.

If she wasn't so busy at work when I was in Thailand we could have had all of packet3 done by the time packet3 notification arrived.

If you look at the timelines, many do send out packet3 within a day or two of receiving it.

It still pays to take the time to go over it for ANY mistake or omission.

We found plenty as we checked and re-checked.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but looking at your time line, how did your wife feel about you taking a yearly trip to Thailand to see this girl? You might want to stop advertising your time line. Just a guess.

MANY people separate, but do not finalize their divorce for YEARS for any number of reasons that are certainly not my business.
