It is best to have a copy of everything that you already sent...while it may not request that you bring those docs, it is better to be safe than sorry. good luck.

Thank you Everyone for all your well wishes. (F) Waheed has booked his flight and he will be coming home on June 3rd. In 11 days I get to see my wonderful hubby again. I can't even believe it. His POE will be in Chicago.

I want to thank everyone here on VJ for your complete support through all of this. You all are great.

When Waheed got his visa we just sat there looking at each other like... a deer in headlights. It is kind of a strange feeling. We spent so many months not allowing ourselves to get to happy about anything and suddenly ... we can be happy. I think we were both just stunned. We knew the visa was coming but once it is actually in your hand.. it is kind of freaky. But now we are Super Happy. Some people have asked me how it feels to finally have our visa after this long wait. Well, it feels like a giant weight is taken off my shoulder and I can allow myself to be happy again. After Waheed and I were married and I left him in Pakistan, it was like someone pushed the PAUSE button on my life. Now, we can push the START button and get on with our life together.

Thanks again for all your support and I hope you all get to experience getting your visa very soon. Inshallah. :luv:

peace

~kris

Kris,

hope all goes well with Waheed's flight. hope to hear everything went smoothly.

Hi guys,

So our case was completed at the NVC and I just got an email telling us the interview date! My wife hasn't received an actual physical letter from them yet, I was just wondering how that worked (and if there are ways to speed it up). The interview date is in two months, and she has to do a medical before that? I know there are certain sites for the medical, do you just call up any one of those doctors and schedule an appointment?

Also did any of you not have your complete medical records? Like vaccinations from childhood? Was it an issue? Any advice on what to expect at the medical (besides what's already on immigrantvisas.com)?

Thanks!

Congrats on ur case completion....Nope no more physical letter, just print out the appointment letter in the email, she will need it for medical and for her interview.Yes the list of approved physicians is on embassy's website, call them up and make an appointment.

I dont think that vaccinations from childhood shud be an issue as they will all vaccinations/shots they think are needed. They also do a chest xray.I believe,my hubby will have his medical in a week or so or you can pm me if u need details later.

Best of Luck

Hi syed,

did you mail in your passport on the 11th, or did you submit it at the embassy at 11th? why did it take so long for you to get it, 24 days when they said it would take a few days?

Actually I mailed my documents for submission on 11 th may. Usually the embassy gets them in a couple of days since I sent them through AMEX. Regarding your second question, I think and the other forum members willl also agree with me, that the normal turnaround time for the embassy is usually 2-3 weeks which doesn't factor in weekends, public holidays etc, so this I guess is slightly above the average time but normal nonetheless.

Regards

Syed
