AOS for K3?

Hello,

So our I129 and I130F have been approved this month and we got a letter from NVC last week telling us that the case have been forwarded to the US Embassy here in Manila last January 15. However, we got a letter last friday telling us that we need to pay the AOS for them to continue the process. I'm quite confused because i thought they already forwarded it. Does this mean that it's currently on hold then at NVC? Hubby's going to pay it this week. We're going with K3. As far as the US Embassy website says, they require a notarized AOS to be presented during the interview. It didn't state any payment for AOS and what i know is that you pay for AOS when you're going with IR/CR1. I'm confused.

Anybody out there who got the same letter while pursuing K3? Thanks!

If i'm not mistaken , the AOS fee is for the I-130 application, if your both petitions got approved u have choices of what you want to pursue. in my case I received a AOS fee also but I didn't pay for it because we chose the K3 visa.

about the affidavit of support for K3, your husband will use I-134 form w/ a notarized and send it to u for the interview.

yes, that AOS fee is for the affidabvit of support for the cr1(i-130). If you are choosing to persue the k3, just ignore it. YOu have a choice between the CR1 and k3 at this point

Thanks for the info. I panicked a bit when hubby told me about it. I asked him for the case number and he said it's for the I129. So it got me worried.

I am guessing that they ask for 400 dollars to process the I-130

Don't worry about it, it will not effect your I-129F or your visa

if I were you I would wait until you got your visa and are here in the usa

then just put in for a change in status I-485 form.
