There's been several hundred suicide attempts in the camp, but rather than acknowledge that it might just have something to do with the pyschological impact of long-term incarceration without trial, the powers that be decided to redefine it variously as "self-injurious behaviour" or "asymmetric warfare".

I'd say "house of horrors" isn't far off the mark.

6, some these are guys who are suicide bombers or send others to blow themselves up so suicide attempts are just practice runs to meet Allah.

What prisons don't have suicide attempts?

Maybe you're right. We should let them starve themselves to death like the UK did with the IRA prisoners back in the 1980s.

What a creative thinker you are Mr Alien.

I have to admit though, I admire the use of the word 'asymmetric warfare' in this context. That's pure inspiration.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well seeing as we're being all technical and relativistic about it we don't "know" who these people are or what they've done (if anything) because the purpose of due process of law is to establish that.

And yes all prisons have suicides, but 350 seems like a high rate for a small prison population in the space of a single year.

Besides if we follow through with this logic of assigning guilt by assumption perhaps we should start deciding on the guilt or innocence of criminal defendants using news media headlines.

Or perhaps we should stop making idiotic comparisons and throwing around duplicitous double standards.

I thought we did that already...
