The Info about the London Embassy listed on this website states that fiances are allowed into the interview. However if you look at the Embassy website ( http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/index.html ) Item #3 says that nobody else can attend or even wait outside. Has anyone had their interview recently where the american fiance was allowed to attend?

If so, I'm wondering if having the fiance there actually makes a difference at all. I would like to go to the interview and visit England again but honestly since our funds are low, I'd rather save the money for the wedding and AOS paperwork after the wedding. Anyone have any thoughts on this to put my mind at ease?

I attended the interview at the end of July without any prior arrangements. Once we got to the front of the line where they look at the appointment letter and id, I showed my US passport and said "May I go in with my finance?" He looked over my passport a rather long time until I said, "I have different hair now. See the smile is the same." He laughed and sent me on to the security booth.

In London, I don't think a fiance is needed at all. I just planned my summer visit around the date so we could celebrate together. Save your money. AOS is $1010.

I agree with Nich-Nick, save your $$$ for AOS. I was also initially planning on going to the interview with my fiance, but the USE in London doesn't put any weight on that as far as approvals go. London is fairly easy anyway, so far, I don't know of anyone who was even asked to show proof of relationship such as pics, phone records, or emails. If you were planning on just going and celebrating with your SO like Nich, that's a great idea, but if funds are the issue, then save it for AOS, that is what we are doing.

Good luck! :star:

I was with my then fiance (now husband) when he had his interview in London June 30th last year and they did not allow me to go in with him so I sat in the park and waited
