I'm a B1/B2 who overstayed, and my husband is about to file the petition with all proper documents and forms.

(I-130, I-485, I-765, medical exams.)

I heard a friend saying that i can also send the I-131?

I have a week of from University and he wants me 2 go visit my dad and grandma (who is miss the most) in MARCH 18.

I havent seen them for 9 years... and i would love to see them.

Is it ok to file I-131?

what are the PRONS AND CONS?

Thanks soooooo much for all your answers guys!!

I was able to fill out all my paper work... with no need of lawyers... who were willing to charge me up to $1,000

I would strongly suggest that " DO NOT APPLY FOR I-131" at this time......you overstayed that will compromise your adjsutment of status and will likely to be denied when enetering back in USA even you had Application Parole to return in USA....my friend don't apply for I-131..wait for few months until you received your green card...

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
