Marriage question

My so and I were talking tonight .... what we really want to do is get married both in the US and the Philippines .... is this possible?

Of course we will being getting married here in the US first ... but is it possible to go back and have a wedding in the Phils as well and have paperwork in both countries?

Sure, why not. We plan to go back and have a small ceremony for Claudeth's family, just not sure when

Well I understand having a ceremony ... but can you legally have 2 binding contracts of marriage in 2 countries?

I guess I wouldn't see why you couldn't I guess ...

Your legal marriage in the US is recognized in the philippines as well, but you have to register it. It may be an issue if you have two independant legal marrages even though it's to the same person, and while the goal is never to get married and have a divorce... sounds like two seperate marriages would make for twice as nasty a divorce, especially considering the rules of divorce in the philippines are different....

Get married in america, register the marriage with NSO (possibly through the philippines embassy in the US?) and then go back after your fiance(e) has at least AP and have a religious ceremony that wouldn't be legally binding.

yes u can. but, d first marriage like u said u r planning to get married here n d US will be consider as ur first marriage. f u r planning to have another ceremony f i'm not mistaken they call it "renewing of ur bows" bec. d first one will be registered first. but u will be given 2 certificates thou.

Or Matrimony! We had to get a civil wedding because the Church wouldn't perform ours within the 90 day time frame. So, when we go back for a visit, we might just take the Sacrament then, to be "Married in the eyes of the Church," and stop living in sin! hehe! For the kids, hehe!

Yay! We also plan on having 2 weddings. One in the US and one in PI...
