i am getting ready to do the 751 for removal of conditions for my wife and i am confused about what to do with my adopted stepson. After i adopted him i took the adoption papers to the local social security office and we got a new card with his new name and they told me he was now a citizen and i did not need to do any further paperwork.

But when i searched vj about how to fill out the 751, i saw posts discussing n-600 (which the version on uscis says expired in 2008) and n-643 (which is not even on the list of forms on uscis) which are adoptions forms. But i have also seen posts which says these forms do not confer citizenship, only provide documentation. so my questions are:

is he a citizen now or is he not a citizen until some form is filled out and processed by uscis? what do i put in part 5 of 751? (this field is really small, it asks for address and status. did you guys put street, city, and state or only city and state or simply put same as above or some such wording? what do i put for status, adopted?) are his conditions removed already because of the adoption or do they need to removed with 751 or do i need to fill out some naturalization/citizenship form? do i include money for biometrics for him on the 751? thanks in advance. bob
