question on green card coming in mail

We have successfully completed the DCF process and will be arriving in the usa shortly. As our furniture etc wont be arriving for a few weeks, we planned to visit relatives until we can settle in the house.

Question on green card...as we wont be home if it comes in the first 2-3 weeks...does the green card need a signature or will it just come in the mail so my neighbor can keep until we return ?

Thanks

The Greencard will arrive in the mail in a plane envelope no signature required, it may take longer the 2 - 3 weeks for it to arrive. Make sure you have your name on the mailbox where the mail person can see it, especially if you are not known to the mail person.

It has been known for the mail person to return the greencard as undeliverable because there is no name on the mailbox.

Ditto... our SSN number came fairly quickly but the green card took 6 weeks. We didn't have to sign for it (which is kind of scary, actually!) as it just shows up in the regular mail.
