I was just standing in line to get food at the company cafeteria and a group of boomers (all in good jobs) were practically excited at the rumors swirling about retirement packages. They all want them!!! It's crazy. And I thought boomers planned to die in their cubes. God bless these people, I hope they all get their packages so I get to stay

But what if they get them and retire? Do their positions become extinct as well or would hiring happen? Here we are having the "your retire/quit, your position freezes". Not cool.

The positions would reopen once the economy thawed. In the meanwhile I'd have my job.

Please, retirement packages for all the boomers!!!!

Actually, you'd have your job and theirs. Say "Hello" to your 12 hour workdays. And perhaps bye-bye to half of your weekends.
