POE Question

During her interview, my fiance was asked what her POE would be.

She told them San Fransisco.

Does that mean she must now enter the US in San Francisco

or can she enter anywhere IE San Jose, Honolulu, LAX, etc?

Recently my fiance told the consulate that her POE will be San Francisco.

Does that mean she MUST enter in San Francisco?

Or can she enter anywhere like LAX or Hawaii or San Jose?

Thanks to all here,

She can enter anywhere. Some people have connecting flights - first stop is POE, because, for example, the flight from Hawaii to SFO or LAX is a domestic flight.

As what i have known, the first state in the US where your fiancee will land is the POE. It would depend on what airline you are going to take.

Slight correction.

Beneficiary can also clear immigration (and possibly*** customs) also at non-US-location PFI.

***the nine PFI's in Canada handle both C&I; the ones in Dublin and Shannon handle immigration only, and the holder must do customs upon landing in US.
