Hi

I have come to US a few days ago and now married.

I was planning to apply for AOS and have the following questions.

Some of them may be stupid or wud have been already answered, appreciate if u cud guide me again.Sorry for the trouble

Could u please help:

1) I think i need to apply for 3 things : travel documents,EAd and adjustment of status.

IS this correct?

Once my application is approved for the above things, will it be valid forever or do i need to do anythign else?

2) Will i get green card after my AOS is approved?

3) What is "Removal of conditions"?

4) When do i get US citizenship(US passport)?

5) Is there a difference b/w travle documents and advance parole?

6) I need to visit my parents in my home country once every year.Once i fill up I -131 and it gets approved will i get permit to travel multiple times?

Can somebody briefly outline the process or guide me to a place where it has been mentioned

1) EAD and AP are valid for 1 year, IF AOS is not approved within that year, you can renew the EAD and apply for another AP.

2) YES :yes:AOS Approval = Green-Card.

3) The green-card you will get has conditions attached that will need to be filed to be removed within 90 days of the green-card's expiration. The condition is that you are still in a bona fide marital relationship.

4) Only after you have been a green-card holder for 3 years married to same US citizen, or 5 years if NOT. You need to meet sertain requirements, and have to file an N-400 to naturalize to become a citizen. THIS IS NOT AUTOMATIC.

5) AP is for travel BEFORE getting a green-card, Travel Doc is for travel AFTER getting green-card, and is only needed if you plan on being out of the USA longer than a year, and less than 2 years.

6) Yes it allows multiple trips during it's 1 year validity. After getting a green card you DO NOT need AP to travel.

Start with reading the guides and FAQ.

1) YES  Infact EAD and AP are not needed once you have green-card.

2) Best practice is to do them together, NOTE DO NOT share evidence among the applications, treat them like they are seperate, clip them to be separate, just send then together to Chicago po box specified by I-485.

3) :guides: and Read the instructions included with the forms.

Note EAD is based on AOS, so use code (c )(9 ) on line 16
