Originals of W2s taken at K1 interview

Greetings friends,

Another question... I'm filling out form I-864, and see that once again, they need copies of my tax return information. Problematically, the consulate officials in Mexico (CDJ) retained ALL of my remaining W2 forms during the interview. My Fiance and I just got married, and have a little time remaining on her K1, but certainly not enough to request original W2s through my employers (a slow process).

I have obtained my most recent tax information through the IRS (thankfully, I did this many months ago), as per this page (http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc159.html) they do not have original W2s to provide.

Have any of you run into this challenge? What suggestions might you have?

You do not need originals, copies of the W2s are fine, that's what we sent in.

I heard that if you have tax transcripts from the IRS, they do not need any W2s. Be sure to make copies of everything before you send it in!!

They don't really need the W-2s or even copies of them -- if your IRS transcripts are authentic.
