AOS Packet?

I'm getting really confused... They all go to the same PO Box and I see in the instructions for AP (I-131) under Where to File that it says:

3A. For adjustment of status applications (Form I-485) filed with USCIS Chicago Lockbox Facility:

Submit Form I-131 either concurrently with Form I-485 or alone to the same address you used to file your I-485 application. (A complete list of the adjustment-of-status applications filed with USCIS Chicago Lockbox Facility is found on Form I-485.)

But under the General Instructions Step 2 General Requirements 1. Initial Evidience:

C. Advance Parole Document

1. If you are in the United States, you must attach:

a. A copy of any document issued to you by USCIS showing your present status in the United States; and

b. An explanation or other evidence showing the circumstances that warrant issuance of an advance parole document; or

c. If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application;

d. If you are traveling to Canada to apply for an immigrant visa, a copy of the U.S. consular appointment letter.

Yes, you mail the AOS, EAD, and AP all in the same envelop. Be sure to check the VJ guides again, it lists the correct address and attention line to include.

For your AP, the K1 & 1-94 shows your present status in the US. And explain why you want AP. Our explanation was 2-3 sentences. Basically saying that my hubby wanted to the ability to travel while his AOS was being processed.

Boy reading the instructions really is a help... I was sure that the fee was:

I485 = $1,010

I765 = $340

I131 = $305

But hey... wadda ya know it's all baked into the $1,010 now!!!!

c. Doesnt' apply to you. Thats for someone who has already applied for AOS and is applying for AP afterward.
