check cashing

How long does it normally take for them to cash your check....also do they only cash it if everything is ok with your application.

Any insight anyone??

I don't know how long it takes but I am getting tired of checking my bank account to see if the check is cashed. Its been 12 days now since I mailed off our package and nothing to report that is good.

Check the October and November applications to see the average time from mailing to cashed check. It will give you an idea how long it takes.

Normally it will be cashed within 7 days upon receipt.

They may check a couple of things, but not all of them.

Such as eligibility of date and thing like that.

But sometimes they may hold the incoming mails for processing for one reason or another.

Such as transferring to other location...

I sent my N400 to TSC and our check was cashed the day after they actually received my file. It might be different for your service center. Although all the files are forwarded to NBC where they are centralized for initial processing, I believe checks are cashed by the service center where they are first received.

Hope you get your NOA soon. I know how anxious you can get about your file being complete until your check is cashed or you actually get your NOA.

I feel everything will slow down again. TSC received my application on 12/3. I just checked the money order I sent to see if it’s being paid, believe it or not 9 days later USCIS hasn’t processed the money.
