Hi,

My wife and kids have their GC interview scheduled for Jan 22 and all have expired passports. We thought we could just go get them renewed and have them before the interview but come to find out we can't get an appointment with the Mexican Consulate until Feb 3 which is after the GC interview. We have the old passports with the I-94 and K1 visa still attached but are worried that the expired passports might be a problem. I should note that my wife does have a valid drivers license.

Thanks,

Zak

Pretty sure you need a passport valid at least for 6 months at time of visa issuance (when her K-1 will change into a CR-1/IR-1 visa). Contact the Mexican consulate for an expedite.
