Filling out the DS-230 for a K-1 Packet 3 response to the Montreal Embassy:

How detailed were your responses to question 20 and 25? See my concerns below.

---

Question 20 "List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin with your present residence."

I lived in Scarborough during my childhood, but that has since been amalgamated into the City of Toronto... so Technically I've lived in Toronto all my life, just at various addresses (parents' house, University residence, apartments). Since there is no "address" column, is it sufficient to say I lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from my date of birth to present?

---

Question 25 "List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States"

Seems a bit ridiculous to have just 3 lines here. I've been to the States countless times throughout my my life (from single days to weeks at a time). What did you all do about this part?

---

Thanks in advance!

Not at that stage yet but have filled out the DS-230 in preparation: This is what I did:

I lived in Scarborough during my childhood, but that has since been amalgamated into the City of Toronto... so Technically I've lived in Toronto all my life, just at various addresses (parents' house, University residence, apartments). Since there is no "address" column, is it sufficient to say I lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from my date of birth to present?

Do you really want to admit to being from Scarborough :rofl: Just kidding - my best friend actually lives there. Seriously though I would just put Toronto and don't forget to print in to "PRESENT"

Question 25 "List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States"

Try to put as much as you can remember. I filled in the first two lines with my last two most recent visits and then on the third line put "see attached sheet for additional information." On extra sheets I titled each page with my NVC case number, name, date, signature line. This was followed with a spread sheet which included that dates of each visit (mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy) and location (city & state). I went back about 10 years which is the duration of our long distance relationship. I know I did travel to the States once or twice when I was younger but cannot honestly remember when so I left that out.

I think that if you go back about 5 years you should be fine. When my husband was applying for his citizenship in the US he had to fill out a similar timeline for all visits outside of the US. His family is in Toronto and I am in Niagara and he travels internationally for business. He went back only 5 years and had no problems.

Hope this all helps.

Good luck

For your first question, I could've sworn I put in my actual address.

For the second question - Visits every 3-6 weeks depending on the month. On the online form, it asked for specific dates so I put the last 6 dates on there. I don't think we have too much to worry about being Canadians, I think they know we can visit eachother frequently.
