An amalgamation of parties and the overthrow of the conservatives? Can some one tell me what the heck is going on ?

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Basically the Conservatives have ticked the other parties off.. from what I've heard from back home is that the Conservatives are planning on cutting the 1.50 per vote "bonus" the parties are going to receive for every vote from the last election and the Liberals are furious. The Conservatives have put out an economic update that the rest of the parties don't like cause they aren't going to pour money in bailouts into industry etc, and so the other parties are threatening to bring down the gov. and then approach the Let. Gov to form a coalition gov. Sounds like a smart idea in dangerous times!!

Its absolutely ridiculous. They are all a big joke. Frankly I am sick and tired of the morons we have in the Canadian government including the province. All they can accomplish is how to get more money from the middle class and waist time on other stupidity. I won't vote and have not in quite a while since I cannot decide who is the better moron. What a freakin choice we have.

I read this last night, either I was tired or just really retarded. But can someone explain how this is supposed to work.

The Libs/NDP/Bloq are going to amalgamate and force a non-confidence vote and head back to the polls?

Or. . . .

The the trio going to take control of the house without going into another election cycle?

I'm no political scientist and really do not understand how option 2 works.

From how my coworker explained it to me, the Governor General decides whether or not to accept the coalition from the Liberals/NDP and Bloc. If she accepts their offer, they get the power and there isn't another election until 2010. However, in May, there is a new Liberal leader and that person will then be in power until 2010 (i think).

I believe that if she doesn't accept, there will be another election or something.

I'm not really that politcal so I don't know the specifics so correct me if i'm wrong (because i have a feeling i'm off a bit)

That makes sense, as why Michelle needs to come home swiftly. I wonder if her decision has to be an automatic rubber stamp like all other assent of bills. This should be interesting.

In Option 2: The group of three have decided that Stephan Dion would be the Prime Minister in a coalition if the Governor General decides to go that route. He Stephan Dion said he will still leave his post in May regardless of the decision made.

At this moment Harper is kissing ### to keep his party in power until they can bring in a new budget in January.

Right now the only one’s fearing they may lose their job are the drivers for the ministers and deputy ministers.

Harper asked everyone in Canada to give their MP's their wishes how this should all play out.. what a waste of money a whole other election would be.. bah!

Anyway, I know people back home (on PEI) who are calling their liberal MP's to tell them how stupid this would be to terminate the gov. at this point.

I think the let. gov would have no choice BUT to back the coalition.. but a coalition will take the CDN dollar down the drain for sure.. too much instability IMO.

I haven't been following too closely what's been going on. I find that sometimes I have a difficult time dealing with too much "news". I find it too overwhelming sometimes hearing so much negativity. This in turn can impact so greatly on how I view other aspects of life and humanity, which again impacts on my own opinions and thoughts of my world.

Pretty interesting stuff.

I had been following the debacle on-line CBC radio.

I have to say....I love the type of fire Canadians have.

Quirky, just might be the word.

Oh, and now they are covering it on "The Current" indepth.

You can find the podcast on CBC to listen to them anytime.

I believe The Current has them too.

They are talking about "behaviour".

If you are interested, of course.....
