I cant be with my fiance at the interview

We have already waited for about 16 month just for the interview so I'm kinda paranoid to get everything right. I cant be with her when shes doing the interview in Ankara. Is this going to be a problem? What does this mean in terms of approval?

Also, shes Iranian, and Ive heard there is a security check that can take months to approve even after shes approved at the interview. Whats the deal with that, and is this for every Iranian or just random?

I was told visa process takes 6 month and shes here, its been 16! But still, I'm glad we finally got an interview.

There are security checks at every stage of this process and yes, it's common for some to get caught up in AP/AR (administrative processing/review) even after the interview... Unfortunately, nobody can tell you how long this will be if it happens. There is usually nothing that can be done about it. People can be held up for days, months... or even years.

Although it's not necessary to attend the interview, in some higher fraud Countries it's often recommended that the petitioner travels to be there with the beneficiary at the interview, even if they can not take part. I have no idea if this is the case in Iran. You will want to check your portals link (which, if you fill in your timeline, will lead you to others who are going through the same Embassy), the Embassy info/reviews links and perhaps the Regional forums here on VJ to get a more precise answer on this.
