Pakistan Police Certificate

My fiance is in London and will be interviewing at the London embassy but needs to get Pakistan police certificate from Karachi, Pakistan. Different sources of information tell me different things...

Will my fiance have to go to Pakistan and be there in person to obtain the police certificate?

What is the procedure and what will be required of my fiance?

Also, currently I am waiting for my NOA2 (i am an Aug 08 filer) and I understand that the Pakistan police certificates are valid for only a period of 3 months from their issuing date...should my fiance wait until he has an interview appointment to apply for Pakistani police certificate?

How long (time duration) does it take for someone that does not live in Pakistan to get a Pakistani police certificate?

Thanks!

if he's not there, he can get someone else to get it on his behalf. he'll need to send a consent letter with a couple of passport size pictures as identity.

i believe it costs 1000 rupees or something. it will take about 2-3 weeks to get it. as always, it's better if he knows someone there.

My fiance's brother is in Pakistan if that is what you mean, he can go on his behalf to get the police certificate. But do you know what is the time duration for the process of getting the certificate?

it's anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get it. they need a copy of the birth certificate and also a letter specifying that this is for US immigration purposes. they need the last address in pakistan is lived at, the duration, etc.

Yes, thanks for the info. But I see that pple are getting them through more "easier and expensive" ways as well. Oh well...we are trying to do everything the correct way, hopefully it works.
