applied for California State ID more than 30 days ago but still pending

hi my vj family! i applied for my California State ID card more than 30 days ago but until now, i haven't received it yet. i called the dmv and they told me that they are still verifying my legal presence.

i used my EAD card as proof of my legal presence and to be eligible to apply for state ID.

for those who applied for CA State ID, how long did it take for you to receive it using your EAD card as your proof of your legal presence?

I do the same, and the lady said it takes around 3-6 months to arrived since we used the EAD card as proof. What a long wait. Be patience

Along with your EAD, did you use your SSN# as well when you applied for your state ID? I don't really know how they do their verification tasks. What kind of state ID did you apply for? was it driver's license?

I also applied for the state ID and dirver's license, I used my SSN (married name). They said that the state ID will take about 60 days. And the driver's license card will take 30 days in the mail. I applied for the state ID last Oct 13 and the driver's license last Nov 3. I still haven't received anyone of those. My SSN card also took awhile in the mail, about 3 weeks instead of the usual 1 week. So I guess they will really take a long while.

As I recall it took Claudeth about six weeks to get her card. I think Calif. had to verify her information with the USCIS. The ID was only issued for the same period as the EAD so it expired about 10 months later. We could have went back when she received her green card but that was a conditional one for 2 years.

oh gosh! that's really a long wait! oh well, all we need to do is to be patient. hehe.

I put there my SSN on the form and they photocopied my EAD card. I applied for State ID at DMV. Thanks for the reply though.
