Need help please!

Hello all.

I've just received a letter from NVC that states, "This letter is to let you know that the NVC has recently received an approved I-129F and that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place!" They gave me a INS receipt number and a case number and finished by saying, "Your fiance will soon receive a packet with instrustions from the consular section at this post on how to apply for the K-1 visa at that post and what documents will be required!"

So what I need help with is..is what they plan to send me packet 3?

How long does it take to fill the packet and get your interview date?

Is there anything else I need to know?

You can search the Immigration Timelines to get a general idea of how long it will take to get to the interview. I did a quick look and it looks like about 60 days from when they receive the approved I-129F to interview. You should search to get a better idea.

You will receive a checklist on packet 3 with all the instructions and some additional forms. After submitting this forms, you will receive an interview date and how to get the medical exam and police reports.
