Hi all,

Finally managed to scrape the cash together to file for my wife's AOS. She came over on a K1 this past May.

I've downloaded the forms recommended in the guide, and low and behold, I got about seven fields in before my first question: What is supposed to go into the File Number field (in which the prefix "A" is already provided)?

I have a form I-797, Notice of Action, which was obtained during the K1 process, and in which Ira's name is preceded by "A088 123 456." Should I be using this number on the new AOS forms?

PS: Do you think the fact that we're a few months late filing will cause us many problems?

Yes, that is the number that USCIS will use to access her file. No, there will be no real problem filing at this time, but of course she is out of status.
