Once your K-1 package goes to the embassy in S.Africa they will send out a packet that will have a list of doctors you can choose from and schedule the medical exam. It is my understanding that you must pick a doctor from only the approved list. I hope this help. Good luck.

My fiance lives in Cape Town South Africa and I was wondering if there were any doctors there for his medical (K1)? Does anyone know if there are any in Cape Town? Thanks!

Done for 3 years or 10 years. Haven't decided yet.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

February 2006 - File Petition, Approved

May 2006 - Medical, Interview, VISA on hand

September 2006 - Set foot prints in the chilly icy JFK, NYC

December 2006 - Civil Wedding

March 2007 - File AOS

June 29, 2007 - Temporary Green Card

I-751

May 30, 2009 - Priority Mail with Confirmation Receipt I-751 Packet

June 1, 2009 - Packed Received by USCIS around 4PM (per USPS Confirmation Delivery Receipt) - now, what's next?

June 2, 2009 - I-797C Receipt Date (Time 21:07....are they operating 24 hours???)

June 3, 2009 - Cashed Check/Bank Cleared

June 4, 2009 - USCIS Postage Date

June 5, 2009 - Local Post Office Receipt date (so, its been sitting on our mail box in house #2 for 5 days...)

June 11, 2009 - Got it! 1 year extension notice......

June 18, 2009 - Received Biometrics schedule

July 10, 2009 - Biometrics Day (cancelled/re-sched)

July 23, 2009 - Biometrics day

November 2, 2009 - Approved

November 5, 2009 - Received via Mail "Approval Notice"

Waiting for actual GC

Currently, there isn't a doctor in Cape Town. You will need to go to either Jo'burg or Durban for the medical exam.

PM me if you have any other questions - we are in the process right now.

Thanks for all the help! Is there anyone out there who had a medical in Cape Town for South Africa??? We are trying to budget and 2 trips to Joburg are going to cost a lot so we are hoping there is one is Cape Town???????
