Hey Everyone!

We are getting close now....hopefully in the next week or two, all of our paperwork for our I-129F will be on its way to Nebraska. Just curious...for proof of our relationship, can we use pics of me with his family or would these be helpful? We only have one or two pics of us (we didn't think to be documenting our relationship) but there are a few of me at his brothers wedding with his family. Also, I have a really good relationship with his sister and talk to her often. I was thinking to highlight her phone number on phone bills to show relationship to his family. And if it would help, I was thinking it might be good to include a letter from my family or his to use as supporting evidence of our relationship....has anyone done this?

Thanks!!!!

June 19th, 2006 - I129-F sent via Fedex (courtesy of my Honey's work) to arrive using next day delivery

Mid- July - Found out I129-F never left his company but is lost there.....need to gather and try again

August 2006 - Still waiting...maybe not the I-129F route anymore

I wouldn't worry about the letters or the phone calls. They could argue you know his sister and not him. THe pictures you have together should be fine and I would use the one showing you attended his brother's wedding. That's a good picture - just make sure it's clear IT'S NOT YOUR WEDDING. They are picky about that. Good luck!

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

I think closeness to his family can be a definite positive, so long as you stress that your relationship to him is primary and in addition to that, you get on wonderfully with his family. On Question 18 of the I-129F, write about your relationship with your fiance', going to the wedding, and all the times you've met in person and then maybe in the final paragraph, write about your good relationship with his sister and the rest of his family and how they're ready to welcome you into their family.

On my Q. 18, even though I haven't (unfortunately!) had the chance to meet my fiance's parents yet, I wrote about speaking with them on the phone and how he sent me lots of pictures/showed them pictures of me and he and I together, etc. and I also wrote about when my fiance' met my mother and included a picture of them together.

Just make sure you focus your response on your relationship with HIM though!

Good luck! :)
