Hi everyone,

My wife had received interview letter confirming an interview on Nov. 20, 2008 in US embassy Mumbai, India. She didn't receive anything (no letter or packets) from Mumbai embassy. She received the letter only from NVC. I emailed Mumbai embassy staff regarding this situation asking if she will get (or need) anything from them.

Here is what I asked them:

My wife (Beneficiary) has received interview letter from NVC with instructions to appear for visa interview on 20th November 2008 at Mumbai consulate. However, she has not received any letter or packet from Mumbai consulate. Is she going to receive any letter or packets from Mumbai consulate? Or Is NVC interview appointment letter sufficient to bring to consulate on the day of the interview?

And Here was their reply:

"She can take the letter she has received from the NVC along with all the documents and submit them to VFS office."

They didn't even answer my question....I asked them something and their reply was something totally different....

Have others who have interviews at Mumbai received letters/packets confirming interview date, medical exam, etc. from them? I really don't know what to do now...

I had her schedule a medical exam on her own with just NVC letter without waiting for anything to come from Mumbai embassy... Do others receive specific date that they are supposed to do the medical from Consulate?

thanks in advance for help.

Crazysamurai,

Don't worry about Interview letter from Consulate, as long as she has any of the one interview letter, and since she does have the NVC one, you have nothign to worry about.

As for Medical, no, consulate doesn't give out dates to when to do the medical. As long as medical is done before the actual interview date, your wife should be fine.
