I-130 ....what are the fees when sending DS-3032 & I-864?

hey just wanted to know how much is the fees that the petitioner has to pay when he sends the I 864?He will become a US citizen soon and has already filed my I-130 in march 2007. So as soon as he gets his citizenship he will upgrade my application.

Can you tell me how long the process will take from the time he upgrades my application till I get an interview date?I am in India and he is in US.

The fee is $70. If your petitioner is a Green Card holder, the approval of your case may take years. In my case, it took exactly four years and one month. Do note that the processing times of the following countries take longer to process due to the number of applicants:

1. Mexico

2. Philippines

3. India (used to be number 2 on the list)

As soon as your petitioner becomes a US citizen, he/she can upgrade your case status immediately. Again in my case, it took two months after my spouse became a US Citizen.

However, some say it's better to wait until your petitioner to become a US citizen first before petitioning you because if you already have a petition it's much harder to to get a non-immigrant visa especially if you're from any of the three countries listed above.

And though there nothing written that you cannot apply for a visa, the fact that you have a petition is already grounds for your CO to deny you a non-immigrant visa. It's ok though if you already have a non-immigrant visa.

If I may ask, when will your petitioner be a US citizen? This way it's easier for you to decide whether to go with he petition now or wait until the petitioner becomes a US citizen.

hey thanks Jose my husband is waiting for his interview then oath so actually we dont know how long it will take.he has hsi interview this month itself..hope he is lucky like quite a few and gets his citizenship soon.

He has already filed an I-130 for me on the basis of his green card in mar 2007 and that application as I understand has to be upgraded.So I want to know how long it will take and what are the steps once the I-130 is upgraded?

The AOS bill is $70 which will generate the coversheet for the I-864 once payment is processed.

The DS-3032 doesn't have a cost but once processed, it will generate the IV fee bill which is $400. After this payment is processed, it will generate the coversheet for the DS-230.
