As I already said congrats in your other post. And yeah Im really jealous and curious... well Im trying to be civil here :innocent: and also hopeful.

So yes I hope that what everyone is speculating is correct and that we were all given dates because if not... I will just burst into tears and cry my entire day tomorrow. And at this point I dont even care if my interview is later in the year or early next year, as long as I have a frigging date and plan my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying:

AND it IS possible that having contacted your congressman might have helped. I mentioned in an earlier post that a family friend's fiancee received her interview a week after he (the petitioner) called his senator. If thats the case, the hunny has some major calling to do...

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Nothing too special. Just explained the situation, how long we've been waiting and the fact that montreal has been awful. What we really asked was to have our case switched to vancouver and breifly mentioned that if they could help us with montreal. I don't know if they actually helped though because we havent heard back from them, but it does seem like something weird is going on. My advice is just to stay busy, make some phone calls and write some emails. Attempting to take some control of the situation gave me some peace knowing that I wasn't entirely at their mercy.

I knew emailing them was useless. I just have to do something. I refuse to sit here and think about the fact that, based on everyone else's timeline, I won't be seeing an interview until... March? April? May?

Hey guys...just wanted to pop in and wish you all dates soon...the waiting part is the suckiest... but I do want to say that Huggles is right....sometimes they fast forward and play catch up and schedule a mass amount of interviews....back when we were waiting...there were a bunch of people before us that were waiting for 4 months (back from Dec 2008) and the all of a sudden they scheduled us all! Some people who had waited 4 months, got interviews the same time as us who had only waited 3 weeks.....so if you think just because people who filed months before you are not schedeuled yet, so this may mean you are months behind....may not be true....you could be days behind them!

Good luck to all :)

I really hope you're right. In any case, there is one of four things going on here:

  • Montreal mass-scheduled everyone through a certain date, which would be win.
  • Montreal scheduled dutchmatt due to pressure from his congressperson, which means everyone start your letter writing!
  • Montreal just scheduled him randomly out of order because they're mean and/or incompetent like that.
  • Montreal didn't schedule him and we're going to have another Peachey / Varba situation, and still have no idea what's going on inside that scary building in Quebec.
Really hoping it's not one of those last two.

By the way, I'm totally setting my cell phone to record when I talk to the Department of State tomorrow.

Zoom. I missed something. A form? I have a very busy fiance working 1.4 million hours a week. A form would be stellar.

I'm nervous too. I'm on hold. I didn't even know it opened at 8:30 lol! I haven't had any coffee yet. I really hope this is good news. I bet half us Canadians are causing this 10 minutes wait time! :hehe:

And yeah Spoom, you put it perfectly.. I really hope it's not the last two either. Everyone's voices together is encouraging, but I'm afraid that I've got my hopes up too much.

Release form to let your congressperson harass Montreal for you.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."
