hi, i'm a newbie here.. i just need an advice about K1 visa processing. my fiance' is 2 years away before he become an american citizen, and he's planning to file a petition after he became one. my question is: is it a good idea for me to work in other country (like canada or UK for 2 years)while waiting for the petition. and then after 2 years i'll go back to the philippines to process the visa? or is it a bad move for me coz it will affect the future processing of my visa, like i'll be having a hard time to get a police clearance in the countries that i'm planning to work to? hope someone could enlighten me.. thanks in advance!

I think there is no problem if you will work in another country before the processing of the visa as long as you are legal there and you can get a police certificate. Take note also of the country where you stayed as to how long the your police certificate be released after filing, in my case, i did studied in japan for 2 years and it takes 2-3 months after filing to the nearest consular office or embassy in your place in phils. some countrys takes 6 months or more . so you better check it out. Also even if your police certificate has not release yet at the time of your interview, you can still take the interview. you will like be in Administrative Review (AR) and if not problem in your visa, it will be released as soon as you got the Police certificate. in my k1 visa trail under my signature, i have posted a topic related to AD and police certificate. scroll down and look for the title. Goodluck

You don't have to return to your home country to process a fiance petition.
