We received our NOA1 Sept 15 and now we are waiting on our NOA2. My question is, when I was in SA with my fiance we went ahead and got the police report b/c we wanted to make sure we got it in time. The police told us it could take 5 or 6 months to receive, so just to be safe we went ahead and got it. Does anyone think for his interview they will say he got it too early? Or has anyone had a problem with this? Thanks!

If you do not have your police certificate yet on your interview appointment, you can still proceed to the interview and you will be be an AR ( Administrative Review) and will be instructed to come back as soon as you got one. it wont be the reason for the denial but you will not received your visa unless you ca show it to them.

Take note : embassy requires a Police certificate when you have lived in another country for more than 6 months and you need to visit the nearest consular office or embassy on how to obtain one. good luck

i was wondering if whether the police report or police certificate is the same.

in my case, i went to japan for 18 months and so i went to japanse embasssy and applied for it (it takes 2-3 months) for japan , so if SA is 6 months, it also depends on the country. you better call them for sure.

We already have the police report. I was just wondering if we got it too early??????

So the police certificate will remain valid even if was gotten 6 months prior to the interview?

You need to contact your embassy and find out how long they are good for. My embassy accepts them a long as they're within one year of the interview date.
