Update

Made it to the DMV this afternoon and it all went smoothly. She had all her ID's/proofs/etc with her and she was asked for SSN, EAD, passport, and Canadian license. He made copies of them all and she got a sheet titled "Temporary Driving Permit" with her DL # on it. The card will be mailed in 2 weeks, pending verification of all the information. Glad it went smoothly :)

Another update

Well, the gentleman, who was a nice guy for working at the DMV (people seem to loathe these offices), put her maiden name on her FL driver's license.

Her SSN has her married name, her EAD has her married name, her Canadian passport has her maiden name, and her Canadian DL has her maiden name.

Which piece of ID is the DMV most concerned with regarding her name? I thought it would have been her EAD. Is it worth the hassle/time to wait and try to get that corrected or

did the gentleman simply following the letter of the law and put the name he saw as being the "legal" one?

We are having a similar problem with the DMV in Indiana.

It is amazing how each DMV has its own way of handling things.

My wife already has her SSN and EAD, and is in the middle of adjustment of status. But the local DMV wouldn't even give her a learner's permit because they only looked at I-94, which was expired 90 days after her entry to the US. Any advice?
