Worrying for my son's MEDICAL

It's Saturday now and our medical is on the 15th of October. we just got home from my son's pedia.he had an asthma attacked since last night (friday night). i'm so worried right now, though his pedia told me that there's nothing to worry & he'll be well before our medical on wednesday. she also gave all the medications appropriate to my son.

What do you think guys? any DOCTORS OR PEDIATRICIANS here? i guess i need a little more advise to make me calm. should i not worry? Is it true that this won't affect the TUBERCULIN TEST of my son?

I need some words of advise please...:crying::help:

Filed: AOS (apr) Country: Philippines
Timeline

if he is on steroids (for his asthma) for a long time already, he will be immunocompromised (immune system is down) and his tuberculin skin test will turn out negative (which is good!). He will be fine, his pedia is right. Just continue his medications as prescribed, avoid dusts. There is nothing to fret about . Asthma is not part of the list of NO NO's for visa.

AOS

03-03-2009 - AOS, EAD, AP sent to Chicago office (USPS)

03-11-2009 - Notice Date

03-25-2009 - Case transferred to CSC

05-05-2009 - GC, EAD card, AP received. :D

They may require Xrays. My anak [7] had PS when she was younger and they took 2 xrays. She was clear.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Don't worry too much. Just bring a copy of the Medical certification from your Doctor (with the diagnosis and treatment given). If he had been diagnosed of asthma for a long time -> diagnosis would probably be Bronchial Asthma in Acute Exacerbation or Intermittent Asthma... It will be most likely that they will do a Chest X-ray exam (CXR AP & Lat view) on him just to be sure. If a Tuberculin skin test (TB skintest) will be done this could turn out to be false-positive (because of previous BCG vaccine) or false negative (due to current medications being taken). Have a copy of the medical certificate and if your son will still have some coughing and wheezing and the Panel Physician noticed this on their exam, then you can present to them the copy of the medical certificate (don't give the original, keep it for your future use).

I am not a Pedicatrician but I'm an Internal Medicine Specialist. Hope this helps. Good Luck and God Bless.

skin test will usually turn to be positive for kids, but u dont need to be worry, cuz not all turn out to be positive in Xray. my son was positive on his skin test, and i was really worry like im getting crazy, but by the explaination of my mom in law who is a nurse and some of my friends here at VJ, my fear disappeared. now were waiting for our visa. sis good luck and i know everything wil be fine, my son also had an asthma history and his even not well when we had our medical. dont worry. ur son look healthy. good luck sis. pls let son drink one can of alphine milk and u also. if that ,son will be positive on skin test let him drink a can of alphine milk the evaporate milk, and u drink it before your medical. also hide some crakers on your bag, so when u guys feel hungry there is something u can eat then Edited by bevs
