My packet was recieved at the USCIS office in Texas on September 22, 2008. I haven't recevied any notices and my check for the I-175 fee hasn't been cashed. Should I be concerned? Does it usually take this long? I mean, I understand it might take several weeks or months to get the first NOA but I'm concerned that they haven't cashed my check. What should I do?

All TSC I-751s should be going to VSC: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=140787

Perhaps your application is in the process of being forwarded to the correct office.

Awe dammit, you're right. I had no clue about the change. This is the first time I'm hearing about it. Should I call someone? Or will they automatically forward it? This just sucks.

Another thing, I have since moved to a different state, so technically, my application should be going to the California office, NOT Vermont. Oh, this is just terrible.

Did your application reflect your current address? If not, you will have to wait for the NOA1 to catch up to you. If it did, then they will forward it to the correct office, CSC instead of VSC. All of this could explain the slow processing of your check. Once the application is in the correct office, it will be reviewed for missing data, the check cashed and the NOA1 finally sent.

So, you have to sit for a while. And then, after receiving the NOA1 you get to sit for a while longer.

Someone else on this board had sent an application via USPS and was able to track that it had been forwarded between Service Centers. I would recommend starting there, if applicable.

Something else that may matter is that there is a revised form for all I-751 applications received 9/23 and later. If you used the old form, you may have to re-submit an application with the new form.

If you have changed your address with the USCIS and you don't yet have an NOA1 with a case number, they probably won't match your new address to your application.

If I were you, I would start with whoever delivered the package to the service center to find out if it was forwarded. Once you know where it was delivered, I would suggest making an appointment at your local USCIS office and making an inquiry there.
