I haven't done the appointment interview call to USEM but as I have read from here you should use PLDT (not call card) and you do direct dialing or tell your hubby to go to any service center (like rcpi etc), the ones with fax service also, and use their pldt phone to call (they will just bill how many minutes--not sure how much, it varies, i guess depends what service center)...

God bless us! :)

There are a lot of RCPI (mostly with western union) in manila... I used to fax docs to my husband in the US using this service.

If he's near Ayala Ave, there a lot of these not just RCPI but their competitors too...

Tell your husband to call the Visa Immigration Unit of the US Embassy. The number 301-2000 loc. 5184 / 5185. Since the number is the US Embassy's trunkline, there is no fee for calls. Tell your husband to look for Grace or Lorraine. The numbers here are reserved for inquiries coming from petitioners. You can also call them but they will give you limited information and ask you to call the 1-909 number. Lastly, information being from calling the 1-909 number is partically useless. The VIU would provide more information to your spouse and it's free unless you're calling long distance. :)

Hi Honey143 (or anyone who can help),

I am currently waiting for USE to send me the letter to schedule the interview. I have the same concern as you did: Which is the best (and cheapest) way to go? I noticed that you already have your interview scheduled. So how did you finally manage it? Did you use 1-900 number or 1-888 number or 301-2000? How long did the call take? If it's over 18 minutes, we would opt to use the 1-888 number. Thanks in advance!

You can tell your husband to go to the nearest PLDT business office where he lives, they will assist him there.or if he has relatives that has PLDT postpaid landline with IDD,maybe he could ask a favor to use it by dialing 108(operator assisted calls),if he wants to find out how much it will cost him so he could pay them outright, just inform the operator to call him back for the TIME and Charges, after he's done with the call, they will immediately call him to tell how many minutes he consumed and how much

BTW,make sure your husband has with him his MNL case number so the call wont eat too much time, just want to inform you that those call center operators are trained to talk very slow so you'll pay more
