My case is complete with NVC and my interview is scheduled on 20th Nov. according to operator at NVC. I want to know what steps do my spouse have to take at local VFS office?

What does she need to send to/thru VFS to mumbai consulate? Is there a specific timeframe when does she need to visit VFS? For those in India who have dealt with VFS, my local VFS office is Ahmedabad, India.

Also second part of my questions is: How do I find out and track if NVC has sent my documents to Mumbai consulate via DHL? My case was completed on Oct. 1. I know there is a mechanism that Loto's guide presented....but I don't know how exactly i can obtain tracking number for DHL....

thanks,

There is a courier fee you have to pay at VFS office, I wrote to Mumbai embassy yesterday and they said the new updated fee is now Rs. 394, you can pay this fee 10 days to 7 days prior of your interview, so that means, you can pay your fee on 10th, 11th and 12th of November. A few people submit their medical at VFS while others take it to Consulate, depends upon when you do your medical. Do keep the receipt from VFS safely, you will have to submit that at consulate on the day of interview.

About NVC, you have to keep calling them periodically and listen to the updates, say your case gets forwarded to Mumbai consulate on 15th of October.

Then go to this dhl track list and type out EXP 15 OCT 2008A

You may want to also type out EXP 14 OCT 2008A. basically you will have to play with dates and there will be a list generated, you have to find Mumbai embassy from there and that's how you track.

Best of luck on 20th November

Actually, have you called NVC and confirmed that if your package have been forwarded to the consulate yet or not?

You can only play with the dates only after NVC confirms that they have forwarded your case to consulate and once you get that specific date of forwarding from NVC, you can play with DHL site.

About medical, one can do medical even 1 day prior to interview, but that is a bit risky, basically once you get your interview date, you can start with your medical anytime which is suitable for you.

For me, I have booked 11th November date at Leelavati hospital. I have to travel to Mumbai for medical and VFS, so that date suites me well.

And see you on 20th :P

ETA: DHL thing is a guess work, you won't specifically get your case number, NVC sends bunch of cases to specific consulate one at a time. So I guess since our case is for 20th November, NVC will forward our case by 20th of October, I have been calling NVC every day to hear their voice message, but there hasn't been any update about forwarding my case to Mumbai consulate.
