Hi all.

I am freaking out a bit because I don't know whether my fiancé (who is from the UK) is supposed to receive something from USCIS/State Department before I send my packet over.

The last thing I received about our case was the letter from the National Visa Center (dated May 10, 2006) which said:

-"The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiancé. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place... Your fiancé will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section at this post on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post (London) and what documents will be required...Sincerely, Bureau of Consular Affairs"

Anyway...I know that I need to sort out the I-134 and/or I-864 (I am asking my parents to co-sponsor as I am back in school and have no steady job) but my parents aren't back from vacation yet for me to do that. Additionally, I know that I have to make another letter of intent (with a more recent date). I don't want to screw anything up because he was denied a tourist visa the first time and we want this to work.

So, having said that, do I wait until my fiancé gets something from the State Department or do I send everything that I know I'm supposed to send when my parents get home?

Thanks for your help

Agree with the other poster - please can you fill in your timeline as it is very important in calculating the statistics on this forum. Our file has also just left the NVC and on its way to London embassy - if you have your case number your other half in the UK can email London to see if they have received the file quoting the case number, if they have they will be sending pack 3 to them. That then has to be returned , a medical booked, and then packet 4 will arrive with the date of their interview. We are not in that much of rush just yet to get pack 3 as my american half hasnt got all the stuff together to send me so I am not chasing them at the moment :) Hope this helps. But please fill in your timeline:) thank you and good luck

Did you remember to click "submit changes" at the very bottom of the timeline form? As for your other questions, the others have given good responses already :)

I had the same problem when I first joined. You need to log out then log back in and keep the "Remember Me" box ticked for it to save your timeline. You don't need to do this every time. Just when you update your timeline.
