Error on my GC

I received my GC on Sept 9,2008 but my card had a typographical error. they messed up with my sex. So i mailed the card back to them along with a letter,I-90 and passport copy on Sept 14,2008. Its been over 3 weeks and i havent heard back from them nor did i receive any letter from them. I have made copies of the card. I dont know what to do at this stage. I do have a I-551 stamp on my passport which was stamped at my interview on Sept 2,2008. How should i know the progress in my situation. Did anyone had the same problem as i heard that its common for having errors on GC.

When this happens, were you able to call anyone and tell them what the problem is before sending in your car.

Its the first time I heard of DHS Sex Error on GC.

This is not the first time this has happened. do a search here on VJ for Greencard errors and you will be amazed at how offten this happens.

To the OP. all you can do is wait, it can take months for you to get a replacement card so dont expect to hear anything real soon. You have the I-551 stamp that acts as a temp greencard and is good for working and international travel.
