Hello once again and best wishes to all of you on this road to happiness.

I have discovered after calling the number given to be by USCIS that the petition ( I-129F) is on it's way to NVC now.

Could anyone perhaps help me in the following questions before it gets there as I may need some time to gather anything I will need next ?

What is the form I would need to fill out for the sponsor's affadavit of support ? I will most likely need a co-sponsor and do they use the same form or is there another one for a co-sponsor ?

Does it matter what source my income is from ? Currently, I am receiving a DIC monthly payment from the Veterans Administration on my late spouse as well as Social Security for myself and my child. Do they use your previous tax returns as a basis of income or is it solely based on current income ?

Is there any other sources I can use other than my home, car, and land ? The land I am referring to is clear of any debt as well as a car. I have one home that may have more value in it since the mortgage is close to a payoff. Is there a specific form that I need to attach to show the value of these ? Can an appraiser give me a figure for all of these or would I have to get the car valued at a dealer ?

Is it possible to use assets alone if they total enough or is it better to have a co-sponsor and use the assets along with both sponsors ?

Thanks for any help with this.

The form most often used is the I-134. Although for some embassys it is not required. I have heard of people just giving their financial history with proof (tax returns, pay stubs, assets, etc.) but I guess the I-134 puts everything together nicely. From what I understand, the co-sponser uses the same form... exactly the same as what you do.

This link might be helpful to you. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...avit+of+support

there is a forums search option at the top of the page.. I have used that MANY times and "researched" what others have said.

About the assets, I have heard that assets have to be valued at least three times the poverty level for your situation.

I hope I have helped in some way. Good luck to you!
