Hi everyone,

I know this has probably been asked but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. We need to resend a new check and USCIS advised us that they sent the petition back to our lawyer - this was on September 15th! We phoned our lawyer today and they told us that they have not yet received the package back from USCIS  ...

We've phoned USCIS a couple of times already and all they tell us that is was sent but its been over two weeks already...is this normal? We're just hoping that its not lost.... :(

Hello MzMo1102,

We also requested our files back from the USCIS. They told us that it will take 2wks to a month to get it back and that they will send it to the lawyer. In fact this should be the lawyers job because you're paying him to file it. He should be doing the follow-up. Our papers never arrived. We filed all over again, but this time we did everything on our own. We got a faster response and were able to track it better. I hope your lawyer gave you copies.

Good Luck to you.
