i don't see why anyone would even consider chancing such. any idle comments could get one on the radar of said people for a long time.

And at the same time we value free speech so that everyone can express their views without fear of persecution. In this cause I think this is where irrational fear interferes with free speech. As I said there's a world of difference between idle banter and conspiracy to commit capital crime.

Its the same difference that sets reasonable suspicion vs. McCarthy-ism for instance...

free speech is one thing. making a statement that directly affects the health of potus is not wise under any circumstances. my advice to any remains the same - don't do it. unless, of course, one is lonely and might like the sudden attention.

Of course knowing the company Mr Galloway has kept during the last few years - you would expect someone to take this rather more seriously than if 'average Joe' said it.

I don't think you'll find anyone who takes Galloway particularly seriously when he says something like this. Most of the time they say "that's nice" while rolling their eyes and pushing an imaginary ####### into their cheek.

He's about as influential as Prince Philip, the queen's husband. A 'days of empire' racist ####### who manages to insult almost any culture he comes into contact with.
