Honestly clueless perhaps...

I mean who tries to turn a simple statement of fact (that in the right part of Alaska you can just about see Russia) into some sort of foreign policy credential? Clearly she likes digging herself into holes.

At least she doesn't try to work miracles and make the crippled walk again (Biden), recall FDR being on TV in 1929 (Biden), admit that Hillary would be a better VP (Biden), or visit 57 Heinz varieties states and still think there are 2 more to go (Obama). Luckily, she also doesn't look like Uncle Fester (McCain), or Lurch the butler (Obama), probably hasn't said the words "my fellow Americans" 102,058 times in the last week (McCain), or said "John, John, John, John, John, John, John" in public (Obama).

Yeah she didn't make a few isolated statements there did she?

She demonstrated a wholesale ignorance of national policy, not to mention the record of the man she is running with.

This whole election is heading the way of the lowest common denominator. Even if I could vote, I don't know which pair of monkeys would deserve my support. Neither side has distinguished themselves, both sides have too much dirty laundry behind them and neither presidential candidate stands out as the better choice. I have a sinking feeling that whoever wins this time around, there will just be more of the same, and another 4 year election campaign. Which would suck, hardcore. :(

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

Certainly - but I'm less impressed by McCain given that he's basically prostituted off his principles to appeal to the fundies. I don't like what Palin represents - and if McCain does win, I don't want her in the frontline for the Presidency in 4 years.

As a Devils's Advocate - are you not concerned that Obama has little experience of politics at the national level and has questions regarding his influences and background that he has needed to renounce in public? And are you not concerned that Biden, the experienced counterbalance to Obama, has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth and may be just as much a loose cannon as you think Palin to be, should he be called upon to take on the Presidency?

To me, both sides of this election present a risk I would rather not be asked to take.

Sure. But as someone who can't vote in this election I have the luxury of not really having to make that choice given that I have little real investment in the outcome.

As to Biden's putting his foot in his mouth, he has sure. That said his track record as a policy maker is more established than Palin's - I would be less concerned about any gaffes he makes on the way. Palin has demonstrated pretty quickly that she may very well be intellectually unsuitable for the job she's running for - and that's discounting the religious angle.

As I said before - Obama is lightweight in some respects but my guess is he's more likely to learn fast and look for and respect the advise of economic and military people who McCain would ignore.

BTW - McCain has indicated today that he thinks the treasury should spend the $700bn on bailing out wall street by going around Congress. And this is someone who wants to Supreme Court to respect the constitution...
