Confusion in Name

Hello Everybody,

My fiancee in US is filing for K1 petition and i have a question

My name is Ravindran Arumugam but my passport says Ravindran Arumugham, if you notice it has a additional letter "h". A typo when they issued my passport..

When i sent my G325A form to my fiance i filled in the name as on passport but now i realized that all my other documents have my name as Ravindran Arumugam without the "h", will this be a issue because it is rarely noticable...how will this effect me in future if i have to apply for SSN, AOS, EAD etc etc.........

Also my passport has my old address in it (also has a 10 year B1/B2 Visa stamp in it), is it really necessary for me to get a change of address on my passport, because here in Bangalore, India we are issued a complete new passport for either a name change or address change (one of the reasons i did not bother to change my name or address because it takes over a month for me to get a new passport).

Can you guys please help me out on this.

Ravi - get the name fixed. They may or may not be a pain in the a s s about it, I wouldn't take a chance.

I don't think the address matters.

I would think the official name in the passport might be a problem, as it is different than the other paperwork. If you can manage to change it that would be best. For now, on the paperwork hopefully you put the alternate spelling on the line that asks for other names you are known by.

I agree that the address is not a big deal. My husband was living in Hyderabad for two years, including during the entire visa process, and his passport showed his home village address. He listed the Hyd address as most recent and his passport with visa stamp was also sent there. No one said anything about the address on passport being different.

One note, better confirm that you will be issued the new passport (with correct name) fast before sending it in. You don't want that passport not ready when your interview rolls around!! (It took my hubby eight months to change the name in his passport, in Visakhapatnam.)
