can work without EAD card after issuance of conditional green card?

Hi to everyone in this forum...

I'm back again with a question. I came across the following statement from one of the immigration web sites and I'm just curious how true it is. It goes:

"...If you are a US citizen, lawful permanent resident (green card holder) or a conditional resident, you do not require EAD to work in the US. Proof of your US citizenship or green card is a proof of work authorization in the US."

My AOS application is currently pending and we are hoping to get an interview schedule soon. I did not file for EAD since I am pregnant and my husband doesn't want me to work while waiting the baby to be born. I figure out that hopefully if things go well with our application I will receive my conditional green card before this year is over. Is this means that I can work after the conditional green card is issued even if I did not have the EAD card?

The EAD card is for you to use pending a successful approval on your AOS.

Once you have the GC (conditional or not) you're allowed to work and travel.

Heliosphan is right. GC (Conditional or not) allows a person to freely work and travel. With GC being granted, you also undertake that you assume residence in the US. EAD and AP are for those people who needs to work or travel before they receive their GC. Both are nullified and void once you receive your GC as you don't need them. In some office, they take your EAD and AP at the interview when approving you as you don't need them.
